Help inform our Local Plan
Blaby District Council has commissioned a survey into people’s shopping and leisure habits to better inform the emerging Local Plan.
Currently under development the new Local Plan will guide growth across the District over the coming years.
NEMS Market Research will carry out a telephone survey with randomly selected households as part of a Town Centre and Leisure Study.
No personal data will be taken apart from age group and postcode sector (your postcode minus the last two letters) and all results will remain anonymous.
Councillor Ben Taylor, Blaby District Council Portfolio Holder for Planning, Transformation and ICT, said: "We are drafting our new Local Plan which will help direct decisions on future development proposals and address local needs and opportunities.
"Local Plans are at the very heart of the planning system and are taken into account when determining all planning applications. Among the topics the Local Plan looks at are housing, employment and retail as well as where development should and should not take place.
"A lot of work goes into creating a Local Plan and this survey is just one element of that important work. I would like to encourage anyone who is contacted by NEMS to take part to help direct this essential document."
Calls, to landlines and some mobile numbers, could occur during the day, evening or at the weekend. If you receive a call and have concerns at any point, please hang up and report it to planning.policy@blaby.gov.uk or call 0116 275 0555.
