It’s the start of a new year and residents are reminded Blaby District Council’s garden waste collection service is now open for 2025-26 subscriptions.

Garden waste collections take place every two weeks, on the same day as your recycling. The service includes 20 collections, with a pause from early December to late February for the quieter winter season.

Customers are urged to take action as soon as possible to ensure they receive the full service.

If you are not paying by Direct Debit and want to be eligible for all collections for 2025-26 you can subscribe up until Sunday 16 March. You can subscribe after 16 March but a full collection service will not be guranteed.

Existing Direct Debit customers don’t need to do anything if they want their service to continue. The re-subscription will happen automatically.

Any new customers who want to pay by Direct Debit should ensure they sign up by Saturday 15 February so the new brown garden waste sticker can be sent in time for the new collection season.

Once the new 2025-26 service launches only bins with the valid brown sticker will be collected. Customers are advised to place it in a prominent position on the bin so it can be easily seen.

There are two bin sizes available. Online prices for 2025-26 are:

  • Small bin 140ltr - £31.50
  • Large bin 240 ltr - £46.00

Subscribers can pay online by debit or credit card or via Direct Debit.

Remember - if you want to pay by Direct Debit you need to sign up by 15 February.

If you want to pay with a credit or debit card you have until 16 March to sign up to ensure you get ALL the collections for 2025-26.

Paying by phone incurs a £2.50 charge.
