Apply now for our Community Grants
Charities, community groups and sports clubs can now apply for funding from Blaby District Council following the launch of the authority’s 2024-25 Community Grants Scheme.
During the last round in 2023-24 some £62,340 was awarded in grants to 57 organisations based in 17 out of the 24 parishes in the District.
There were 20 first-time applications with 85% of these successfully receiving grants. Projects supported included the set-up of Warm Spaces, creative and wellness initiatives, carbon-cutting solutions and schemes to address the cost-of-living crisis.
Luke Raddon-Jackson, Blaby District Council’s Group Manager Assets and Major Projects, said: "It’s great to see the continuing success of our grants programme. Its broad reach has enhanced community facilities and services across the District, ensuring the benefits of the scheme are widespread. The scheme has proven inclusive and supportive of new initiatives, helping fresh ideas and projects to flourish in our community. The grants have been pivotal in meeting a wide range of community needs.
"We have made a few changes to the scheme for this year. However, our commitment remains to ensuring our funding makes a real difference in meeting current community priorities and challenges and has a true positive impact on the lives of our residents."
There are four grant rounds this year with the first application deadline on Friday 7 June at 5pm. A range of grants between £500 and £4,000 are available to suit different projects.
