Flexible Working – Our policy supports a range of options available including part-time working patterns, job sharing, working from home, annualised or compressed hours.

Flexi-Time - Our Flexi-Time arrangements allow up to two days per month to be accrued where additional time is needed.

Hybrid working – many roles offer the opportunity to work remotely for part of the time.  This includes financial support to establish your remote working set up in a comfortable and safe way.

Annual Leave – Staff on pay scales 1-8 have a minimum of 24 days annual leave increasing to 29 days after five years continuous service (pro rated). Bank holidays/closure days are on top of this.

Bank Holiday Entitlements – Nine days (pro rated).

Pension Scheme – We offer enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme which is a pay based pension and has generous employer contributions. The pension also has immediate life cover and pension for spouse, civil partners, eligible cohabiting partner and eligible children.  LGPS also provides early payment of your pension if you are made redundant over the age of 55, ill health pension is available after two years and flexible retirement options may be available.

Free Parking – We have onsite car parking, cycle bays and access to electric car charging point.  Accessing the Council Offices by public transport is also easy with a local train station that is only five minutes walk away from the main council offices and bus routes from the city centre.

Learning and Development – Excellent training and development opportunities are available to employees to gain further skills and experience including access to funded Post Entry Training and Apprenticeships (including Higher Level Apprenticeships).

Occupational Health -  Access to our free occupational health service, which provides specialist support, advice and guidance to employees.

Employee Assistance Programme – Free, confidential support and advice 24/7/365 for all aspects of life from in-the-moment emotional support to a series of counselling sessions to accessing information specialises for financial support, childcare or legal advice.

Mental Health First Aiders / Staff Support Groups – peer support for mental wellbeing and signposting for access to other support.

Leisure Centre Memberships – We offer free and discounted memberships to leisure centres in our local area.

Eye Care Scheme – We offer a contribution towards eye tests and glasses for all employees.

Employee Volunteer Scheme – We offer opportunities to volunteer within the local community, as well as interesting job shadowing opportunities in the authority and other local authorities in Leicestershire.

Family-friendly procedures – Maternity, Paternity, Parental and Adoption Leave are all available as standard.

Fantastic location – Our main offices are based in a village with parks and green open spaces within walking distance.
