Electric Vehicle Naming - Terms and Conditions

Our electric vehicle naming competition closed for entries on Friday 6 December 2024 and we are delighted to announce the Winners and their chosen names.

Our Electric Bin Lorry has been named 'Bin Richard the 3rd' by Tabitha Tame, aged 8.

Our Electric Road Sweeper has been named 'Starshine Sweepalot' by Esme Walton-Wright, aged 5.

The terms and conditions of the competition:

Duration

The Competition will run from Friday 8 November 2024 until 4.30pm on Friday 6 December 2024. The Closing Date will not be changed unless circumstances out of Blaby District Council’s control make it unavoidable.

The Prize

The Winner who names the Electric Bin Lorry will receive a LEGO City Bin Lorry (Set 60386) and the Winner who names the Electric Road Sweeper will receive a LEGO City Street Sweeper (Set 60249). 
The prizes will be dispatched within 30 days of the Closing Date.

Who Can Enter

The Competition is open to children aged 4 – 17 years old who either live in Blaby District or who attend a school in Blaby District.
The Competition is not open to immediate family members of Blaby District Council employees.

How To Enter

Entries must be submitted in the way required in the details of the Competition.
All entries for the Competition must be received no later than 4.30pm on 6 December 2024 to be eligible.

Validity Of Entry

There is a limit of one entry per person per vehicle to be named (two).
Late or illegible entries will not be accepted.
Winners must agree to have their photo taken with the vehicle they have named.

How The Winners Will Be Chosen

Winners will be chosen by Councillor Les Phillimore, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Community and Environmental Services and Councillor Cheryl Cashmore,  Portfolio Holder for Health, Leisure, Climate and Economic Development.
The selection of the Winners will be final. 

Winner Announcement

The Winners will be announced on Blaby District Council’s website no more than 14 days after the Closing Date.
The Winners will be notified personally as soon as practicable either before or after the date of the public announcement.

Winner Publicity

Entrants accept that, if they win, Blaby District Council will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their photo, name, age, town of residence for the purposes of announcing the Winners of the Competition.

Data Privacy

Personal information about the Winners will be shared with Blaby District Council’s agents to the extent necessary for prizes to be delivered to those Winners.
All personal data relating to Competition entrants will be processed solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation.

General

By submitting their entry, Competition entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms.
Please retain a copy of these rules for your reference.
The Competition and these Terms will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
