Pay Your Council Tax

Direct Debit

You can set up, amend or cancel a Direct Debit using the online form below. If you are setting up a Direct Debit, payments for Council Tax can be debited from your nominated bank account on either the 1, 15 or 28 of the month.

Note: if your account has arrears and is under recovery, you will not be able to set up a Direct Debit online and need to contact us to discuss this. Details regarding who to contact is dependent on your circumstances which can be found on the Help and Advice page but please note that we cannot take bank details by email. 

Login to My Account

If you are already signed in to My Account use this link. Once you are signed into My Account, select My Council Tax.

Register for an account

After registering, you will be taken to your online account where you will find a link to My Council Tax.

Paying over 12 months

You can choose to pay your Council Tax over 10 or 12 months. We will automatically set your payments over 10 months unless you tell us otherwise. If you would like to pay your Council Tax over 12 months please complete the online form below.

Please note that if you request 12 monthly payments part way through the year, you will only have the remaining months to March for payments, as Council Tax must be paid within the Tax Year.

For example: If you want a 12 monthly plan to start from June, you will have 10 monthly payments remaining for the year. The following year and continuing years, you will be able to have the full 12 months until we are advised otherwise.

Pay online

You can also pay your Council Tax online using a debit or credit card. You can download a guide on how to make a payment if you need help.

Automated payment line

Payment can be accepted by debit and credit card on a 24-hour automated payment line. Please go to Pay the Council and follow the instructions for "Pay by phone".

PayPoint Outlets

You can pay at your local PayPoint outlet using the barcode on your bill. This is scanned and you will be given a receipt. PayPoint outlets usually only accept cash. There are various PayPoint outlets across the district. Please note that it can take up to six working days before your payment will reach your account.
