Council Tax bands
Council Tax is a charge on all households and pays for local services.
Each property in Blaby District is in one of eight Council Tax bands, A - H. Find out how much your current rate of Council Tax is on My Blaby. You can also check the Council Tax band service on .GOV.UK to find out which band your property is in.
Band valuations
The Valuation Office decides which band the property is in and this is based on its market value on 1 April 1991. The amount paid depends on the band and parish the property falls into.

D | £68,001 - £88,000 |
E | £88,001 - £120,000 |
F | £120,001 - £160,000 |
G | £160,001 - £320,000 |

Challenge a banding
The valuation band for your property is shown on your bill. If you have recently moved into the property or purchased the property and you disagree with the banding you have six months from the date of occupation or purchase to appeal. If you wish to appeal the banding of your property, please visit the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) website or contact them by telephone on 0300 050 1501.
