Local authorities work closely with local, regional and national partners to create equitable and sustainable opportunities for sports participation at every level.
Sports development encompasses many areas of work such as Coach Development, Player Development and Club Development to ensure as many people can participate and enjoy sport, and to also attain their potential at whatever level.
This area of work has become very diverse and new imaginative ways of developing sport and encouraging people to adopt a more physically active lifestyle are being implemented all the time.
Blaby District Councils Sports Development Team support the Blaby Local Sports Alliance (LSA). The LSA is made up of partners from a multitude of different organisations who all strive to provide sport for all.
Representation includes other council departments, schools, NHS Primary Care Trust, Voluntary Action Police, leisure centres, community disability groups and sports clubs as well as representation from Leicestershire and Rutland Sport.
