Our vision is that people are able to enjoy happy, healthy and independent lives, feeling involved and valued in their community during later life. After consulting with partner organisations and residents, we have identified three priorities for ageing well:

  • Staying healthy and independent

  • Reducing isolation and loneliness

  • Feeling safe at home and in the community

Blaby District Council is supporting several initiatives to help make this vision and the priorities a reality. If you would like to know more about any of the information on this page, contact the Partnerships Team and Community Development Team.

The number of people living with dementia in Blaby District is expected to almost double by 2033. Blaby District Council is one of a group of organisations who have come together to form the Blaby District Dementia Action Alliance (BDDAA). Its aim is to make Blaby District a better place to live for people with dementia and their carers. To find out more about the alliance and how you, your business or organisation can get involved, visit: Blaby District Dementia Action Alliance
