We do not collect garden waste as part of the standard household waste collection service.

Make a payment
If you have received an invoice and need to make a payment, you can make a payment online using the invoice number on your bill.
Garden waste collections take place on your usual collection refuse and recycling collection day. Collections are made fortnightly during summer (March to November) and monthly from December to February.

Garden bin information/costs
There are two different sized garden bins available:
- a 140ltr bin for £24.00 per year, per bin
- a 240ltr bin for £36.00 per year, per bin
You can rent as many garden waste bins as you like.
We charge for replacement bins if they have been damaged on purpose, stolen or have been reported as missing. The cost of a replacement bin is:
- 140ltr bin - £20.00
- 240ltr bin - £30.00
The charge includes the cost of a new bin and delivery. The new bin will continue to be the property of Blaby District Council.
We do not charge for wear and tear damage to bins. This includes broken lids, missing lid pins, splits to the body of the bin or damaged wheels.
Please check with neighbours and surrounding streets before reporting a garden bin as stolen.

- Grass cuttings
- Flowers and plants
- Small prunings
- Hedge clippings
- Leaves and bark
- Large branches
- Slabs or other rubble
- Kitchen waste eg fruit and vegetable peelings
Moving within the district
When moving within the district, we advise you to take your refuse, recycling and garden waste bins with you.
If you have already moved house and left the bins at your old property you will need to order new bins from us.
Alternatives to garden bins
Degradable garden bags
Degradable garden bags are available at a cost of £5.20 for three bags from local shops and post offices. The bags should only be put out for collection on garden waste collection days.
