With the chance to find employment and training opportunities for people of all ages, the Fosse Jobs and Skills fair returns on Wednesday 24 May.
Organised by Blaby District Council, the fair takes place from 10:30am-2pm on the mezzanine level of the Food Court at Fosse. The popular event brings together local employers and support services under one roof.
Over 350 people attended last year’s event with 32 businesses present. The Council has worked with the Fosse, Leicester Apprenticeship Hub and the Department of Work & Pensions to offer the fair for the eighth year in a row. Practical help and advice will be on offer for job seekers, and organised workshops for anyone looking to improve their future development.
Cat Hartley, Group Manager for Planning and Economic Development, said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Fosse to offer the Jobs and Skills Fair once again. This is a great event for jobseekers to meet local employers and find out more about opportunities in the district.
“We also encourage our local businesses to reserve a place and take advantage of a unique opportunity to meet hundreds of eager people.”
Recruit Fosse is part of the Recruit Regional programme from The Crown Estate, connecting talented local workforces with new jobs in their area, as well as delivering training and support to help local unemployed people gain employment.
The free service is available to retailers, restaurateurs and leisure companies based locally, to supplement their existing employment programmes and support their recruitment needs.
Faheem Qureshi, head of employment generation at The Crown Estate, said: “There is huge support for Recruit Fosse and excitement about the opportunities for the area. We want to continue to ensure Fosse is a brilliant place for people to shop, spend time and work.
“With this programme we are implementing a proven model, one which has already guided over 1,500 people successfully into new employment. Our aim is to further enhance the positive impact Fosse has with the local community and local economy.”
This event is FREE to attend with pre-registration open from Friday 12 May via www.blaby.gov.uk/jobsfair2017.
