Blaby Lottery open to good causes

Registration is now open for local community groups to benefit from a new lottery coming to the District of Blaby in 2018.

Love Blaby Lottery is the weekly online lottery with a jackpot of £25,000, helping local organisations and clubs to raise much needed funds. 60p from each £1 ticket goes towards the supporting good causes. Each organisation will receive 50p in every pound for tickets bought through their webpage.

10p will go into the general Blaby District Community Fund which will be distributed through the Council’s Community Grants Scheme. Organisations are being encouraged to register early and benefit from extra publicity leading up to the official launch and first draw early next year.

Sapcote Community Library, Menphys and Whetstone Good Neighbour Scheme are among those organisations who have already signed up to benefit from extra funding.

Joining the Love Blaby Lottery is absolutely FREE for good causes. As well as 50p from each ticket sale, organisations will receive help to promote their cause to players, along with access to a dedicated helpline for queries.

Community Champion, Councillor Les Phillimore, said: “These are exciting times for Blaby District Council and our local communities and it is great to see a wide range of non-profit organisations coming forward already and signing up to be part of a lottery for the community.

“We would encourage all our community groups and our local businesses to get involved and help support the Blaby Lottery. There are a wide variety of groups already, including sport clubs, help for the elderly and animal welfare, meaning everyone can help raise funds for their favourite cause.”

Community groups can register by visiting or call 0116 380 0775. Terms and Conditions are also available on the website.

The official launch of the Blaby Lottery is scheduled to take place at Fosse Park Food Hall on Saturday 27th January 2018. Players will be able to register soon with updates available via and the Council’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
