Christmas shoppers visiting Blaby and Narborough will be able to park for free on Saturday 02 December as part of this year’s Small Business Saturday campaign.
Blaby District Council is supporting the campaign by offering free car parking at Johns Court, Enderby Road in Blaby Town Centre, as well as Weavers Court in Narborough village to encourage people to shop local.
With the first Saturday in December known to be one of the busiest days for Christmas shopping, it’s the perfect time to see what local independent shops have for a special Christmas gift.
Councillor Sheila Scott, Portfolio Holder Planning, Housing Strategy, Economic and Community Development, said: “Small Business Saturday is just one great way to encourage people to visit our local town and village centres. We hope local businesses can use this campaign to help boost trade in the run up to the festive season.
“This free car parking means people can stop in our local centres for longer at no expense.”
Small Business Saturday is organised by the Federation of Small Businesses and supported by Blaby District Council as one of a range of initiatives used to boost local centres across the country.
Businesses are being encouraged to register on the ‘small business finder’, pledge their support and order a support pack. For details of the different ways local businesses can get involved visit www.smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com.
